..and the most lovely bride ever..
..in a beautiful converted granary called Kilrie (between Kirkcaldy and Burnt Island. Who knew?)
Aubergine walls. Stone floors. Huge glass windowed arches. Very nice celebrant
Kilrie Granary is a really quirky and original space with a beautiful cottage attached, and all of the walls are covered in contemporary art as part of an ever changing gallery of works.

Does what it says on the tin
Afternoon tea in the afternoon (!), followed by a bbq in the evening and a day of good friends, close family and all round loveliness where-ever you looked. An old mill wheel, a pond with ducklings and a permanently positioned heron that swooped in and out, rushes as tall as me.
Let them eat cake..
And 'made by me' mini steak and shallot pies (shortcrust bottoms and puff pastry tops)
Glorious high tea
Esther and her mum spent months collecting crockery for the day, and making all the strawberry jam (served in Bonne Maman jars - they are just the best thing). Relatives made the stunning floral arrangements (more Bonne Maman jars). I nearly cried. So lovely.
Beautiful grounds with a mill wheel in the background
Whole salmon on the barbie
Food readying - orange and rosemary polenta cake, stilton basil and sun-dried tomato bruschettas, custard tarts and pistachio shortbreads
All week I cooked and baked. 100 merinuges, 90 lime custard pies, 90 steak and shallot pies - not to be confused with the custard pies; they ended up looking quite alike!, 100 pieces of pistachio shortbread, 4 orange and rosemary polenta cakes. My oven has been on almost permanently for 4 solid days. There is something about this labour intensiveness though because it produces relaxed and informal and generous food. And that is very much the spirit of Esther and Jez . All the food was simple, locally sourced - thanks to Ardross Farm shop for the fabulous burgers, and St Monan's fish shop for a wonderful whole salmon - and reflected Esther's own philosphy of supporting local and small businesses.
Salmon and prawn skewers, bbq roasted aubergine and courgettes, haloumi and sweet chilli skewers, pearl barley risotto
Picnic basket of cutlery and a vintage suitcase of meringues
please can I have some more
Third time lucky
Esther's attention to detail in the planning of her celebration was soooo cool. She joked during her speech that at one point, despite her GANT chart for timings, she had lost track of her own schedule. Well all I can say is that I don't think that there would have been a single guest there who didn't think that this was truly the most perfect wedding. EVER.
