Tinkerings and thinkings.

I spent yesterday tinkering and taking pictures and thinking.

There is a wooded copse beyond the harbour in the village where I live. A very beautiful shimmery leaf kind of shady space overlooking the water and nestling against a sandstone cliff. I love this space and often wander along with a book and a picnic and my camera.

I love old books. Not really old. But quite old and usually sea/boat themed. Lots of them have still to be read so yesterday I chose the one with the nicest cover. And I picked my entire apple crop - all 4 of them apples - and popped them in my basket.

I settled to taking pictures and reading and munching on sandwiches. I ate the ugliest apple and saved the prettier other three for Sunday's spiral apple bread. The brisky breeze turned the pages of my book and settled on a chapter entitled 'We try our wings' and I liked that. We try our wings.

And as I sat and tinkered and thinked and thought, I imagined what it would be like to have a food photography day in the copse. With people who were interested in food and photography. We could prepare simple food and style some shoots and take pictures and eat. We could try our wings.

So that's what I think I'm going to do. Some Lazy Sunday sometime In October. When the leaves will be crisp and the colours golden. In my favourite wooded copse by the village where I live.
