Venue Monday - The Byre at Inchyra (www.thebyreatinchyra.co.uk)

I first visited the Byre at Inchyra just before renovations had begun. I met lovely, kind-hearted artistic, creative owner Caroline who kindly spent a couple of hours showing me around - the byre, the grounds and the potential. I remember coming over all of a flutter as my visit continued -  I think because I could just feel that Inchyra was going to be very very special. We  (Lazy Sunday) were invited to showcase what we do best and cooked a meal for Caroline and her family. Late Autumn, we created a simple Autumnal candle-lit table scape and cooked venison, and canape soup shots  - on a twin bbq stove set up on a wobbly tressle table in the area that is now the cloakroom. We served figs stuffed with parma ham, and frangipane tart. And very very thankfully we won a place on the supplier list. Caroline possibly doesn't know that I did a little happy dance as we cleared our things away but gosh - I squeeked with excitement all the way home.

So, our food and our tablsescape went down well that cold and dark evening; and from that night to this we have enjoyed catering for many wonderful weddings at Inchyra. I love the bones of it: The fact that couples can create more or less whatever they want in the simple, beautiful space; that the lighting is transforming and can create such beautiful atmosphere; that Caroline built a catering kitchen that is a joy to work in; that no two weddings EVER look the same or feel the same because of the ingenuity and artistry of the couples choosing to get married there; and that this truly blank canvas is both inspiring and inspired.

We cook generous, wholesome, WOW factor food and this Lazy Sunday style 'fits' The Byre at Inchyra beautifully we think. Take a look:
